a vote of confidence
Ahh--top of the mornin' to you all!! I'm just back from an early trip to the airport to drop Wes off on his trip to Florida. As he leaned into the window to give me a kiss g'bye Wes told me he has every confidence in my ability to negotiate a sale on the house in his absence. I haven't felt as confident until this morning. I just realized I am the best person for this task! He gave me the figures and the bottom line. My bottom line is higher. I mean, THIS GIRL HERE (me) will be needing money to shop for a couple of pieces of furniture, some light fixtures and flooring and maybe some plants (Japonica for hula, of course!). Also, negotiating this place is extremely personal. This home represents, to me, all of the struggle through all of the years to get to this point. In short, I am not inclined to just give it away! If it means that the buyer goes away and the offer on the house in Federal Way goes away (only temporarily, I hope), then that's how it will be. I know now that I want that place in Federal Way. It's not good to fall in love with a home too quickly while dealing in real estate, but it's too late for that. It is a nice place, at a good price for us. The next few choices (second and third) are easily 15K more expensive, and will greatly limit the home shopping funds (appliances, window coverings, etc.) so I'm not excited about making that go away. I'm crossing my fingers and saying a prayer and you know, there's more to come on this real estate story!
Well, I think I'll practice some chanting and hula and pot a few plants to kill time until the appointment at 11:30!--
